August 12, 2010 – (Above) A Metropolitan Water Reclamation boat uses water reclaimed from the Chicago River to scoot more than 30,000 rubber duckies that splashed down from the Columbus Drive Bridge Thursday afternoon. The toy ducks, competing in the Windy City Rubber Ducky Derby, “raced” to a waiting boat, where numbers on the tags of winning ducks were noted. Duck sponsors, benefiting Special Olympics Illinois, competed for prizes. (Click on image to view larger version.)
