Creatives to settle, inspire River North

September 9, 2013 – An annual festival for creative people coming to River North for three days this month hopes to capture the spirit of festivals such as Sundance and SXSW.

The “STORY Conference,” scheduled for September 18-20, will host events at six locations in River North – including House of Blues, Museum of Broadcast Communications, Scottish Rite Cathedral, the Ivy Room at Tree Studios on Ohio Street, and Instituto Cervantes, a not-for-profit institution that promotes the Spanish language.

According to a news release on Monday, the event is expected to attract 1,000 creative people from all over the United States. Its purpose will be “to create a place where they can be inspired and learn from the leaders of creative industries.”

This year’s presenters include the founders of NoPattern and charity: water, along with directors at Google Creative Lab, Nike, and Pixar.

Chuck Anderson (Left) Chuck Anderson is founder of NoPattern, an art and design studio whose clients include Microsoft, Nike, Warner Bros., Reebok, and Target.
