July 6, 2020 Following what 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly said were chronic complaints from neighbors of Concrete Cowboy, the city has revoked the business licenses of the nightclub/sports bar at 646 North Franklin Street.
According to Reilly, after the city revoked its licenses on June 30, Concrete Cowboy voluntarily surrendered them effective July 2 and is now closed.
As a neighbor, Alderman Reilly had witnessed many of these incidents first-hand, said Reillys office, including chronic late-night traffic congestion, corresponding vehicular noise, and noise created by patrons outside of the establishment.
A public nuisance case filed against Concrete Cowboy in 2019 included 50 specific charges.
Concrete Cowboy opened in 2016 after purchasing the licenses of the former operator. Reilly says a liquor license moratorium will prevent any further licenses from being approved for the location.
