Chicago attorney named president of condo advocate’s Illinois chapter

March 13, 2014 – A Chicago attorney has been elected president of the 1,100-member Illinois chapter of the Community Associations Institute.

Kerry Bartell Kerry Bartell (left) is an attorney with the law firm Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit. She was elected in February.

CAI helps associations with information, education, and other resources. It also lobbies on their behalf before legislatures, courts, and regulatory bodies.

Members of the Illinois chapter, which is based in Schaumburg, include more than 500 community association board members who represent more than 100,000 unit owners. Worldwide, the institute has about 60 chapters and more than 32,000 members.

Bartell specializes in homeowner associations. Her clients include Marina Towers Condominium Association in River North.
