Alderman Reilly chief of staff leaving for p.r. firm

April 25, 2013 – 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly’s Chief of Staff for the past five years is leaving for the private sector.

Madeleine Doering will be a vice president at Res Publica Group, a communications firm located in River North. Res Publica is Latin, loosely meaning “public affair.”

Reilly made the announcement on Monday. Doering will continue as a part-time consultant to Reilly, advising him “on more complex matters related to zoning, land use, planning, and preservation.” Her public relations work at Res Publica Group, Reilly assures, will not be a conflict of interest, as she “will have no involvement in development or land use issues.”

According to Doering, her last day as chief of staff is April 26.
