January 19, 2014 – The public television show that sends everyday people out to review restaurants has visited Tortoise Club. WTTW sent three lucky diners to the Marina City restaurant for a segment that aired on Friday.

Lori Kapelinski called it “classy and sophisticated.”

Ellen Yun said she “was so impressed” and the Tortoise Club people “were phenomenal.”

“Don Draper would take a client here,” said Ellen, referring to the Mad Men character, “and if this place is good enough for Don Draper, you know I’m going there.”

Corey Richardson was a little more finicky and while he called the service “amazing,” as for the rest of the experience, “I wasn’t feeling it. It just wasn’t my thing.”

“It really is about the experience here,” said owner Keene Addington at the start of the segment. “Coming into your own personal club but it’s open to everyone.”

Catherine De Orio hosts the show.
