Red Line Robber strikes again

June 9, 2009 – The Red Line Robber, a serial bank robber who hit the Chase branch at Marina City twice, has struck again. This time it was a branch of Charter One at 33 West Grand Avenue. That is three blocks north of Marina City near the CTA Red Line station at Grand & State.

It happened Monday at about 2:25 p.m. According to published reports, a security dye pack given to the robber with the cash activated outside the bank.

On May 12, the robber struck MB Financial Bank, located one block south of Marina City in the Unitrin Building.

Investigators announced late last month they are intensifying their search for the Red Line Robber, offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
