Marina City bank robber strikes another Chase branch

March 17, 2009 – The same suspect who robbed the Marina City branch of JPMorgan Chase last Tuesday struck another Chase branch on Friday, according to the FBI.

This time, it was the Chase branch at 850 South Wabash Avenue in the South Loop. The robber entered the bank at about 5:00 p.m., forced the branch manager over to a teller, where he displayed a handgun. He announced a robbery and demanded cash, threatening employees at the branch with physical harm. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, he fled on foot.

On March 10, at about 3:12 p.m., the man walked into the Chase branch at Marina City. He displayed a handgun and announced a robbery, but it did not go smoothly. While leaving the bank, a security dye pack activated and cash was seen blowing around on North State Street.
