Chicago Police Department

August 25, 2014 – Two men and one woman have been charged in a murder and attempted murder just outside of River North three weeks ago.

Deandre Hughes, age 19, and Bianca Young, age 23, (above) were each charged with first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder. Javon Almond, age 17. was charged with first-degree murder.

The shooting happened at 3:50 a.m. on August 3 at Bodi, a nightclub at 873 North Orleans Street, just north of Chicago Avenue. 32-year-old Martrell Ross was punched, chased into an alley, and shot eight times after Hughes, Young, and Almond allegedly found him and others leaning against their car.

An unidentified 21-year-old man tried to run for help but Hughes, say prosecutors, hit him from behind and shot him in the back, side, forearm, and foot.

All three suspects are from the west side of Chicago. They were in Central Bond Court on Monday.
