Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

May 19, 2016 – Many, many deep, deep thoughts were shared from the bedroom of fictional high school student Ferris Bueller and that very room from the 1986 John Hughes film, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, is being recreated at Virgin Hotels Chicago in the Loop.

Canadian artist and documentary filmmaker Sarah Keenlyside has brought the Bueller bedroom to real life for Ferris Fest, a three-day celebration, May 20-22, of the 30th anniversary of the film.

Keenlyside has done this before, for an art exhibition in January in Toronto that was seen by 4,000 people over three days. She found hundreds of items identical to the movie set, which was designed by John Hughes himself, based on his bedroom when he was in high school.

This time, Keenlyside says she will “add more authentic items to the installation.”

Actors Cindy Pickett and Lyman Ward, who played Ferris’s parents in the film, will visit the recreated bedroom.

The exhibit will be located at The Casting Room, private event space at the hotel’s restaurant, Miss Ricky’s.
