15-Dec-17 – A bouncer at Rockit Bar & Grill took a stun gun zap to the chin from a man he had told could not enter the River North establishment.

On December 7 at about 10 p.m., according to prosecutors, Omar Hernandez of the Lower West Side tried to enter Rockit Bar & Grill on Hubbard Street but was turned away by a bouncer.

Chicago Police Department Hernandez (left) then produced a stun gun disguised as a mobile phone – the ISTUN made by Guard Dog Security – put it to the bouncer’s chin, and activated it. Guard Dog Security claims the device delivers four million volts.

The 25-year-old bouncer was not seriously injured and declined medical assistance. Employees detained Hernandez and turned him over to police, though he was first taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered during the incident.

Hernandez was charged with battery and unlawful use of a weapon.
