Man tangles with HOB bouncer and loses

January 13, 2012 – One week after a Marina City employee was escorting to the door an unruly patron who turned and struck him, it happened again – this time at House of Blues.

On December 31, at 4 a.m., a bouncer at HOB was showing the door to Aristide Manvel, age 28, when he turned and struck the bouncer in the face with a closed fist. Manvel was then handcuffed – not by police but by HOB personnel. When police arrived ten minutes later, they found Manvel sitting on the ground inside the doorway ready to be taken to 18th district police headquarters for processing.

Chicago Police Department Manvel (left), who lives in Evanston, was arrested, charged with battery, and released on $1,500 bond.

On December 24, a Smith & Wollensky employee was struck in the face by an intoxicated man who had entered the restaurant and demanded a beer. The unidentified black male was also charged with battery and given a court date.
