February 18, 2010 – BIN 36 will re-open on Thursday with a new menu and a new floor, after being closed for three days for renovation.

Ongoing water damage at the Marina City restaurant gave owners an opportunity for minor repairs and to refinish the floor. The wood floor was sanded in many areas and near the bar, where leaks had caused minor damage, the wood floor was replaced with tile.

Some seating areas have been reconfigured. Cheese coolers were moved. Posters and chalkboards have been taken down.

“The restaurant will just have a nicer, cleaner, fresher look,” says co-owner Dan Sachs. “It’s sort of like anything that’s been around for a long time, layers upon layers of stuff accumulated and it was high time to sort of lighten our load a little bit.”

The restaurant was scheduled to open Thursday at 6:30 a.m. with a new menu, which has changed “significantly,” according to Sachs.
