Serving the Loop and Near North neighborhoods of downtown Chicago
Betrayal bites the dust

ABC Studios

December 10, 2013 – If you have not seen much of Betrayal since the recent pilot, the bad news is you have missed a lot but the good news is that it will not get any more complicated after January 19.

ABC says the series will wrap after its 13th episode airs. Through its first eight episodes, according to the media trade publication Adweek, the show, which filmed in downtown Chicago this year, averaged 3.6 million viewers per week, which is considered low. In late November, it was the lowest-rated new drama of the season, tied with another show that has since been cancelled.

The series has made much use of the Chicago riverfront. AMA Plaza, in particular, has been a favorite meeting place for the FBI. Here, agent “Quincy Theringer” (back to camera) meets with “Aiden,” a reluctant informant, in Sunday’s episode 9, It’s Just You and Me Now. (Click on image to view larger version.)

Betrayal is about an unhappily married woman who has an affair with a lawyer for a powerful family with offices in the Wrigley Building. On March 25, 2013, a scene involving a helicopter, police and fire vehicles, was shot very late at night between the Clark and LaSalle Street Bridges.
