River North beat cop to speak at White House

September 12, 2011 – One of two officers assigned to the police beat that includes Marina City will help bring President Obama up to speed next week on the issue of bullied children.

Karen Wojcikowski, founder of The Bully Police Squad, a website that advocates for bullied children, will be Obama’s guest on September 23 at a White House conference, along with the squad’s national executive director, Debra Gorczynski.

Karen Wojcikowski Responding to incidents of bullying, many resulting in the death of a child, Wojcikowski (left) launched the site last December to increase public awareness and help children, parents, and teachers affected by bullying and social cruelty.

Also attending the conference is DeSean Jackson, wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles and the first player selected to the all-star Pro Bowl.
