Intoxicated man assaulted on State Street

July 19, 2011 – A man, apparently out drinking early on a Saturday morning, was assaulted on the sidewalk in front of the Museum of Broadcast Communications earlier this month.

It happened on July 2 at about 2:16 a.m. An unidentified woman who witnessed the assault told police she saw a man punch the victim in the face with his fist, causing the victim to fall back and hit his head on the ground. He received a minor cut and was given first aid by a Chicago Fire Department ambulance.

The suspect, who fled on foot. was described as a white male, wearing a yellow shirt. Police described both the victim and the witness as intoxicated. Neither lived in the neighborhood.
