Woman arrested after following residents through private entrance

December 17, 2012 – A woman was arrested and charged with criminal trespass late last month for following Marina City residents through a plaza-level entrance.

The entrance, reserved for residents, requires a working key card or fob and includes a hand scan entry system. On November 26 at about 7:47 p.m., a woman was seen following residents through the entrance. Residents who saw this complained to security personnel, who told the woman to leave and not come back.

When the woman did return and again followed residents into the building, police were called, arriving at Marina City within a few minutes. The woman’s name was not released. ABM, a private security firm employed by the commercial property management, reported the incident to Chicago police.
