Hotel Sax is offering Marina City residents a 20 percent discount off room rates through January 10. “Think of Hotel Sax as your incredible guest house,” suggests a recent mailing to residents. The discount may be used when making reservations by phone at 866-619-9830 or on the hotel’s website at HotelSaxChicago.com, using the code PREFERED. “Some conditions may apply,” reads the fine print, along with “discount is subject to availability.”

Meanwhile, the publicly owned real estate investment trust that owns Hotel Sax and other commercial property at Marina City has issued a whopping 9.2 million shares of common stock at a price to the public of $23.70 per share. LaSalle Hotel Properties will use the $218 million for general corporate purposes, to reduce debt, and according to a news release on December 17, “to fund all or a portion of the cost of future hotel acquisitions, including the potential acquisition of a hotel in a major U.S. market in which the company already owns properties.”

The band named after Marina City is sharing its holiday-inspired mirth in a new video. I Hope You Get Run Over By A Reindeer features the entire rock/pop/electronica band – Ryan Alan, Brian Johnson, Matt Gaudiano, Ricky Sutton, Eric Somers-Urrea, and Aaron Heiy. It was produced by Kyle Alstrom, Jake Hallstrom, Lindsay Brooks, and Steve Findley and uploaded to YouTube on December 10.
