353 North Clark 80 percent leased

March 21, 2009 – Topped out at 45 stories, 353 North Clark is scheduled for completion this year between October and December. According to Stephen A. Smith, Managing Director of Jones Lang LaSalle, the building, located between North Clark and North Dearborn Streets, is 80 percent leased.

Last June, Spencer Stuart signed a lease for 113,000 square feet on three and a half floors. The executive recruitment firm will move its 350 employees from 401 North Michigan Avenue next year.

More recently, Smith says they signed the diversified energy services company E. ON to 28,000 square feet.

The $442 million office tower will feature three restaurants, a health club for building tenants, a 500-seat auditorium, and an underground parking garage. According to the building’s brochure, “two sophisticated, white tablecloth restaurants will offer high-end cuisine.”

One of the restaurants will be Oceanaire Seafood Room, part of an upscale chain of restaurants based in Minneapolis.

A 32-foot lobby will feature ultra-clear “Porsche” glass and stainless steel, two types of granite, and two colors of marble accents.

At 624 feet in height, 353 North Clark is 36 feet taller than the residential towers at Marina City, located to the southeast on the other side of North Dearborn Street.
