23-Feb-17 – As zoning variances go, this one is arguably mild. A real estate company wants to build a 12-story condominium near the corner of West Superior and North Sedgwick Streets in River North. The project does not require any zoning changes, just allowance of parking on the ground floor, according to 42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly.

Ascend Real Estate Group, located west of the Loop, says 360 West Superior will offer 34 residential units. A typical floor will be comprised of four corner units, each with a 14-foot-wide by 10-foot-deep balcony. Amenities will be on the 12th floor.

Ascend was the developer of The Madison at Racine, a nine-story, 216-unit luxury apartment building in the West Loop. The company is currently building Niche 905, an 18-story, 202-unit luxury rental on Orleans Street north of Chicago Avenue.
