Argument leads to shooting on Chicago Riverwalk

12-Jun-17 – A shooting on the Chicago Riverwalk injured two men early Sunday.

At about 2 a.m. on the Riverwalk east of Dearborn Street, according to police, an argument started between the two men and a larger group.

A 30-year-old man was shot in his left foot and a 28-year-old man was shot in his right leg. They were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Witnesses say they heard at least three gunshots. There have been no arrests in the shooting, as of Sunday evening.

Susan G. Komen Chicago’s Ignite the Fight Gala, celebrating 20 years of funding global research and providing critical breast health services for the underserved in the Chicago area. The anniversary celebration will feature Mario Lopez, Emmy-winning host of Extra, as the Celebrity More than Pink Ambassador, as well as 20 More Than Pink Heroes, who will be honored for their exceptional compassion, bravery, and leadership in the fight against breast cancer.

The Gala will kick off with the Dearborn Street and Clark Street bridges over the Chicago River being illuminated in pink. The bridge lighting takes place at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner, awards and dancing at Westin Chicago River North, 320 North Dearborn Street. Pink ties and pink cocktail attire encouraged. Tickets are now on sale.
