21-Oct-17 – The man police were looking for in the robbery on Monday of an 81-year-old turned out to be a woman.

Victoria Dollarson Victoria Dollarson (left) is accused of robbing the man at the Washington / Wabash CTA station in the Loop and causing him to fall down concrete stairs. The 25-year-old woman from the Humboldt Park neighborhood is charged with felony robbery of a victim 60 years or older.

As the man stepped off a Brown Line train at about 9:25 p.m. on Monday, police say the robber grabbed a mobile phone from his hand. There was a struggle and the man fell down stairs leading from the platform to the street. He suffered a cut to his head, bleeding on the brain, bruising, and swelling. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Surveillance images of the robbery were released by Chicago police on Wednesday. Dollarson, who lives in the 3200 block of West Evergreen Avenue, northwest of the Loop, was arrested on Thursday at about 7:37 p.m. According to CWB Chicago, she was recognized by someone who recalled seeing her at social service centers in the Lake View neighborhood.

In bond court on Saturday, Dollarson’s bail was set at $150,000. Court records show Dollarson pleaded guilty in April to a charge of manufacturing and delivering crack cocaine, and was given two years of probation. In September, she was arrested for domestic violence.

The robber was initially described by police as a man, 19 to 24 years old.
