Armed robberies near State Street in broad daylight

5-Oct-16 – Chicago police report an armed robbery last Friday in the 300 block of North State Street in River North happened at about 7:30 a.m. A young man approached a victim on the street next to Marina City, displayed a handgun, and demanded personal property.

Another incident happened near State & Hubbard last Thursday at about 11:00 a.m. The same man is suspected in a robbery in the 100 block of West Chestnut Street on September 23 at about 5:00 p.m.

The robber is described as black, 15-20 years old, about 5’6”, 150 pounds, dark complexion. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Police say the man “should be considered armed and dangerous.”
