23-May-17 – An armed robbery near Trump Tower and The Langham earlier this month was caught by multiple surveillance cameras but the robbers may still be at large.

Chicago police say two men, only one of whom was wearing a mask, walked into the Dunkin’ Donuts on Wabash Avenue at about 5 a.m. on May 1. The man wearing a black ski mask and hat pointed a chrome handgun at an employee and demanded all the money from the cash register.

After taking $500, the robbers started to go into the back of the donut shop but then left and ran north on Wabash.

They are both described as black, six feet tall, 150 pounds, and 25-27 years old.

Chicago Police Department declined to say whether an arrest has been made but Dunkin’ Donuts calls it “an ongoing investigation” with which they are cooperating.

“The franchisee who owns and operates this location informs us that the safety and well-being of his crew members and customers are top priorities,” said a spokesperson for Dunkin’ Donuts on Tuesday.
