9-Jan-17 – Bars, restaurants, and retail stores in the Loop were hit by two or more burglars in the last four months of the year.

Chicago police say the suspects used force to enter at least 12 businesses through front and back doors between September 9 and December 29.

Four incidents late at night and early in the morning happened near the intersection of West Van Buren Street and South Clark Street, near Metropolitan Correctional Center, between September 9 and September 13, 2016.

Burglars returned to the area, two blocks west on Van Buren in the 200 block, on December 27 at 1:50 a.m. and December 29 at 2:30 a.m.

The other locations include…

  • North LaSalle Street between Madison and Randolph on September 25.
  • 200 block of West Randolph Street on September 28 or 29.
  • 500 block of West Polk Street on October 6.
  • East Washington Street between State Street and Michigan Avenue on November 14.
  • 400 block of South Financial Place on November 18.
  • 100 block of North Wells Street on December 5.

The burglars are described as black men, 20 to 52 years old, about five-feet-nine-inches tall, weighing 170 to 210 pounds.
