Loop North is a news and information website serving the Loop and Near North neighborhoods of downtown Chicago particularly River North, Streeterville, and Gold Coast. If you live and/or work north of Adams Street, south of Chicago Avenue, east of the Chicago River, and west of Lake Michigan, this website is for you. In terms of zip codes, we serve 60601 (north side of Loop), 60603 (central Loop), 60606 (west side of Loop), 60611 (northeast of Loop), and 60654 (northwest of Loop).

Downtown Chicago Crime Report provides access to Chicago Police Department crime incident reports for the Loop and five other neighborhoods Fulton River District, Gold Coast, New East Side, River North, and Streeterville.
At a glance, see what crimes have been reported most recently, where and when they happened, whether there was an arrest, and case numbers. Search by block, date, or crime. Click Neighborhood to widen the search by a few blocks. Click the Trend button for an analysis of the selected crime on the selected block number of incidents reported, percentage of incidents in which there was an arrest, and locations at which the crime was reported the most. Click Analyze Block to see how the selected block compares with the rest of downtown Chicago.
Filming Locations. Unless you want to dig around on the citys website, Loop North is the only source of information on active filming permits issued by the City of Chicago.
See the project name and description, permit number and date issued, location address and dates project will be shooting there, and street closings (if any). Scroll through a list, updated daily, or see locations displayed on a map. Check in from any computer or mobile device or signup for free email alerts whenever information on new filming permits is available.

Every afternoon, a summary of news and information of particular interest to Chicagoans who live and/or work in downtown Chicago is created and emailed at no charge to subscribers. This update includes headlines and links to stories from Loop North News, closing stock prices of companies with headquarters in the Loop and on the north side, a tip on an upcoming neighborhood event, and the weather forecast for downtown Chicago for the rest of the day and tomorrow.
Once a week, an update is emailed to a large list of people local and nationwide, providing a summary of stories covered during the previous week.

Loop North was formerly known as Marina City Online, a website that was a finalist for Best Neighborhood / Community News website in the 2014 Chicago Headline Club Peter Lisagor Awards for Exemplary Journalism. From July 2007 to November 2015, 393,688 people visited MCO. The typical visitor was a Chicagoan, 25 to 34 years old, who was on the website for one minute 54 seconds. There were 586,788 visits during this time and 1,274,131 pageviews.
